Apple Woolamaloo Automator Actions v.1.4

About Woolamaloo Automator Actions
If you are an iTunes U administrator, you likely already know how to manage your site using Apple¡¯s iTunes desktop application. And while iTunes is powerful, simple and straightforward to use, it can become cumbersome, even tedious, to do so whenever you need to make more than just a handful of changes to your iTunes U site.

In order to help administrators perform routine maintenance on their sites, Apple has made a web services interface to iTunes U available. The difficulty, however, using the web service is its seeming complexity ¡ª especially for non-programmers or those not well-versed with XML tools, such as XMLSchema and XQuery.

That is where the Woolamaloo Automator actions can help. The Woolamaloo actions encapsulate many of the iTunes U web services in a form that non-programmers can easily use ¡ª a set of Mac OS X Automator actions. The Woolamaloo actions can be configured using Apple¡¯s desktop workflow tool, Automator, and can be combined to perform routine iTunes U administrative tasks ¡ª even tasks of arbitrary complexity. Many more features.

What¡¯s New in this Version
- The number of actions has increased from eleven to twenty-three! A large proportion of the iTunes U web services interface is now under your control!
- The Woolamaloo Automator Actions manual has been expanded ¡ from eight to twenty four pages. A more in-depth discussion of how the actions work is included.
- The Woolamaloo actions have been updated to work with Apple¡¯s latest iTunes U XML schema (XSD version 1.1.1).
- Many more enhancements.

Apple Extract Files Action v.1.01 For Mac OS X

About Extract Files Action
The new Extract Files Action for OS X Automator allows you to extract any combination files by file extension or file type. This is very useful for video and photo workflows. For example you could extract all jpg, tiff and gif and then use another action to resize them all to the same size. The Extract Files Action will recursively search all the included subfolders for the file extensions or types specified.

To use this action enter file extensions in the form txt, jpg, mp3. Note that the items are separated by a comma and a space. do not use a period before the file extension such as .txt, .jpg, .mp3. The same is true for the file types.

What¡¯s New in this Version
- The Extract Files action is updated to correct an error when one of the input fields is left blank. In version 1.0 of Extract Files, if the File Type field was left blank, all files that had an empty file type would be passed through. The same is true if the File Extension were left blank.
- With the update to version 1.01, the action correctly performs the file extract based on the completed parameters and does not return files with an empty file type or with no extension.

The Set Safari Home Page action takes a URL and sets Safari¡¯s home page to that URL. The second action, Quit Safari, quits the Safari application if it is running. The quit Safari action is useful to change the home page setting since Safari must be quit and relaunched for the new home page setting to take effect.

Note that the Set Safari Home Page action is only tested with Safari 3.0.

Apple Automator Virtual Input v.2.0 For Mac OS X

About Automator Virtual Input
Extends Apple¡¯s Automator automation program to give it control over the keyboard and mouse cursor. Automator Virtual Input allows Automator to access anything you can by simulating mouse clicks, movement and drags along with keyboard key presses.

By simply listing the actions you wish to preform, like any other automator action, then using the ¡°Run Virtual Input¡± action to activate the virtual machine, the keyboard and mouse are at your command. This allows you to access all the functions available to you in any given program, no longer confined by the limited actions available. Three example workflows are also included with full explanations of the actions taking place in each to give an example of what Automator Virtual Input is capable of.

Automator Virtual Input allows you to preform the following:
- Simulate a Left Mouse Button Click.
- Simulate a Right Mouse Button Click.
- Simulate the keyboard typing.
- Simulate the mouse being moved.
- Simulate a keyboard command and/or shortcut being pressed.
- Simulate the mouse being dragged.
- Resize and Reposition active windows.
- Press and Hold down keys.
- Release keys held down.
- Simulate Tab, Return, Arrow or Function keys being pressed.

All in the form of easy to use Automator actions that now can be executed in the background for greater integration, faster execution and a more professional look.

What¡¯s New in this Version
- Now includes the ability to execute virtual input actions invisably for a more intergrated feel and greater ease of use.
- New move mouse and keyboard shortcut actions.
- Also includes a number of bug fixes.
